MORE MONEY NEEDED

Tamworth Regional Council will decide tomorrow night whether to use another $50,000 on the uranium removal system at Bendemeer’s Airlie Road Bore.
The project is expected to go over budget from the initial $165,000 estimate, after the site shed had to be enlarged to fit the treatment infrastructure and additional water tanks needed.
It comes after elevated levels of uranium were found in Moonbi, Kootingal and Bendemeer’s water supply in August 2016.
In the mean time, a 12-week testing period will continue at the site, to see if the resin filter is helping.
