P-PLATER ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT SPEEDING ALMOST 30KM/H OVER THE LIMIT

A Gold Coast P-Plate driver has been fined more than $600 and lost 6 demerit points after allegedly exceeding the speed limit by almost 30km/h.

Police allegedly detected a Holden Colorado travelling at 139km/h in a 110km/h zone on the M1 at Oxenford just after 4:30am today.

When police spoke with the driver, he conceeded was “dreaming” when asked what speed he was travelling at.

The 26-year-old man from Molendinar was issued with two traffic infringement notices and fined a total of $621.
