WINNING TENDER ANNOUNCED FOR SPORTSGROUND MAKEOVER
The successful tender for the Stage 2 redevelopment of the Maitland Regional Sportsground Complex has been announced.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald said Clouston Associates would oversee the $5.5 million project, that includes the construction of a synthetic athletics track, a turf field, floodlights, and modern amenities.
It’s estimated the project will create an additional $18.4 million for the local economy, and generate 48 new jobs during construction.
The redeveloped complex will increase the number of visitors to the area, and provide Maitland with the infrastructure to support growth.
The works are being largely funded by the NSW Government’s Hunter Infrastructure Investment Fund, with $5 million also provided by Maitland City Council.
The Hunter Infrastructure Investment Fund has committed $50 million to enhancing infrastructure and supporting growth across the region.
