Police are investigating after a stolen car was torched this morning, sparking grass fire on Ash Island at Hexham.
Emergency crews were called out to the blaze just after 6am.
There was no immediate threat to homes.
Firefighters put the blaze out early this afternoon after flames burnt through more than 10 hectares.
