MAN DIES AFTER CAR PLUNGES INTO WYONG RIVER

A 69-year-old man has died after his car plunged into the Wyong River last night.

Around 6.20pm, a vehicle left River Road and crashed through a barrier and into the river.

Officers were quick to respond, however the man’s body was retrieved an hour later.

It’s believed the vehicle was being driven at high speed around the time of the crash.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle prior to the accident to come forward.
