DAYNE DAVIS HELPS MELBOURNE TO AIHL TITLE

The Newcastle Northstars may have surrendered the Australian title this season, but our region still had something to celebrate, with Hunter resident Dayne Davis helping Melbourne win the grand final.
The Ice beat the Canberra Brave 4-1 in the Victorian capital over the weekend, handing Davis his third straight title.
During a regular season where Melbourne won the minor premiership, Davis set a new league record with 20 wins from 22 games.
