Angry voices echoed through Gold Coast University Hospital at lunchtime with medical imaging staff rallying against the out-sourcing of services up north.
Protestors pointed to Rockhamption Hospital, where private firms now provide X-rays, MRI scans and ultrasounds.
“Jobs will be cut, patient waiting times will blow out. The actual examiniation times will blow out as well. You’re looking at costs to patients instead of coming in and being free.”
The Health Minister’s office says there won’t be any changes on the Coast that don’t deliver better outcomes.
