ROBYN PARKER TO QUIT POLITICS

Maitland MP Robyn Parker has announced she won’t contest the state election, after 12 years in politics.

Ms Parker says she will leave her political career with her head held high and her integrity unblemished.

In an official statement Ms Parker said, “It’s now time for me to explore new career choices and challenges away from politics.”

Ms Parker served in both houses of NSW parliament, for the last four as the first female Member for Maitland.

She also served as Minister for the Environment and Heritage, until she was eliminated from Premier Mike Baird’s new-look cabinet when Barry O’Farrell resigned in April this year.
