Passengers flying out of Tamworth’s airport will now have to screen their hand luggage before boarding.
10 new staff have been employed to man the checking system which is designed to make domestic travel safer.
Airport Manager Michael Dubois hopes the upgrade will encourage more airlines to offer services in and out of Tamworth.
