Firefighters have contained a bushfire at Premer, west of Quirindi
The blaze is burning at Mount Tamarang and has destroyed more than 1200 hectares of scrub and farming country.
The fire threatened rural properties earlier this week, and despite the horror weather conditions, ground and air crews managed to bring the blaze under control overnight.
There are also concerns about a blaze that is threatening to spread to the Nundle state forest.
