Melbourne had its hottest March night on record last night, while Mildura experienced its hottest March day today.
Sydney has now had 34 days above 26 degrees, smashing the previous record of 19. The mercury has not dropped below 20 degrees for 20 days and nights – also a new record.
Further north, and Brisbane is now receiving some rain after the second driest Summer on record.
The current trend of hot, dry weather for the North West, Greater Hunter and Mid North Coast will continue as the showers ease for north east NSW and south east QLD.
