The Newcastle Northstars’ disappointing season continues in the Australian Ice Hockey League, with the side going down to the Perth Thunder in a shootout.
Newcastle led for most of the game – scoring two in the first period.
From there the teams traded goals.
Until a final quarter charge from the Thunder sent it to a shootout.
It was tight, but the visitors came out on top.
Defending premiers Newcastle now sit second last on the ladder.
