Police have released CCTV vision of a man and a vehicle as their investigation into an armed robbery in the Hunter Valley last month continues.

On the afternoon of Saturday the 1st of April, a man armed with a knife entered a newsagency on Wollombi Road in Cessnock, demanding cash.

Staff complied, and the man fled.

Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist them with their inquiries.

He is described as wearing a balaclava, a hooded light grey jacket with a dark stripe down the arms, black gloves, dark-coloured long pants and dark shoes with white socks.

Police have also released CCTV images of a vehicle they believe may be connected to the robbery.

The vehicle is described as a silver Mitsubishi Mirage with yellow and black number plates, standard hub caps and damage to the left rear wheel arch.
