CLARENCE TOWN WAR MEMORIAL VANDALISED

Assistance is being sought from the public after a war monument near Port Stephens was vandalised last week.

Police say the World War I cenotaph at the intersection of Queen Street and Grey Street in Clarence Town was marked with black marker, sometime between 5pm last Wednesday and 5pm Friday.

The initials have been ‘AC AB’ written across the names of fallen service men and women.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police.
