MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING BOOLAROO POLICE PURSUIT

A 34-year-old man has been charged following a police pursuit near Lake Macquarie last night.

Police attempted to stop a white Toyota Hilux that was allegedly being driven erratically on Anzac parade in Teralba at around 8:30pm.

The driver from Tighes Hill allegedly failed to stop and police engaged in a pursuit.

Officers pursued the vehicle in Creek Reserve Road in Boolaroo, where the vehicle was stopped in the dead-end street.

It will be alleged that the driver resisted arrest before being detained.

A search of the vehicle allegedly also revealed items stolen from a Glendale store and an amount of cannabis.

Further inquiries also revealed the driver was disqualified from driving until 2029.

He has been refused bail to appear in court today.
