TAMWORTH COUNCILLOR FEES SET TO BE REVIEWED AT COUNCIL MEETING
A pay-rise for Tamworth councillors will be on the agenda at tomorrow night’s council meeting.
The maximum amounts councillors and mayors can be paid has recently been changed by the state’s Local Government Renumeration Tribunal, following council amalgamations.
Under the new structure councillors in the Regional Rural category can be paid a maximum of $19,300, while mayors can receive a maximum of $42,000.
A report – by the general manager – will be reviewed at tomorrow’s meeting, recommending councillors and the mayor be paid the maximum rate.
