The first section of dune fencing at Old Bar Beach is now complete, as part of a short-term solution to tackle erosion.
Work for the Dole participants today enjoyed a barbeque as a thank you for their part in the project.
“The boys have finished their work and they’ve done it well and they’ve done it cheerfully,” Elaine Pearce from Old Bar Sand Replenishment Group says.
“From a Work for the Dole perspective the participants they gain work ethic, you know the ability to work as a team,” James Dean from Nortec says.
Almost 1.5 kilometres of dune fencing now runs from Badgers Beach to Second Corner.
