NATIONAL SERVICEMEN HONOURED AT 67TH ANNIVERSARY SERVICE

Members of the National Servicemen’s Association – Oxley Sub-Branch were joined by members of the Tamworth community yesterday afternoon to pay homage to the lives lost in active service.
The ceremony commemorated the 67th anniversary of National Service, with Barnaby Joyce and Kevin Anderson both laying wreaths at the Railway Park Memorial.
The ceremony sparked calls for national service to be reinstated.
64,000 National Servicemen were called-up to active service in Vietnam, with 212 lives lost.
