Four teenagers have been charged following an incident at South Grafton’s juvenile detention centre.
It’s alleged the group was armed with knives, while they attempted to access an air conditioning vent, three metres above the ground.
Police arrived at the centre at about 8.15pm, the teens were arrested without incident and the weapons were secured.
The four detainees face a string of charges including affray and malicious damage.
No staff members were physically injured during the incident.
