HAMWICKS CLAIM FIRST TITLE SINCE 2004

Hamilton-Wickham has outclassed Belmont to win Newcastle Cricket’s two-day grand final for the first time since 2004.

With Rhys Hanlon and Matt Webber at the crease this morning, Hamwicks were 4 for 195, a lead of 123.

The captains conceded the match was over at drinks, handing Hamwicks their second trophy this season.

Mark Dries was named man of the match.

The skipper is confident he and the side’s long-serving players will be back to defend the title.
