Police have found a body off Newcastle Beach, which is believed to be that of a missing Pakistani national.
23-year-old Mohsin Awan was swept out to sea on Sunday night, while taking photos with a friend at Nobbys Beach.
His friend returned to shore, but Mr Awan couldn’t be found.
Water Police, Marine Rescue and Surf Life Savers have spent the past two days searching for the University of Newcastle student.
Just before 8am today, a body was found about a kilometre off Newcastle Beach.
