An elderly man was the victim of a frightening home invasion in the north west of the state last night.
Police say that an unknown man entered a home on Myndee Avenue in South Tamworth, and confronted the 76-year-old male resident with a knife around 6pm.
The intruder demanded money, before fleeing the home.
The resident was not injured.
Police would like to speak to a man they believe may be able to assist in their enquiries.
He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 152cm tall, of medium build with short black hair.
He was last seen wearing a grey shirt with dark coloured shorts.
