WOMAN ALLEGEDLY DOUSED IN PETROL DURING DOMESTIC ATTACK

A woman has allegedly had her earrings torn out before being doused in petrol by her partner on the Central Coast.

Around 3am on Sunday, an argument broke out between a man and his female partner at home on Watkin Avenue, Woy Woy.

The man, aged 45, has allegedly ripped the woman’s earrings out before leaving to purchase some petrol from a nearby service station.

On returning home, the man allegedly threw the petrol on the 45-year-old woman, as well as pouring petrol at the front of the home and threatening to light it.

Police were contacted and arrested the man.

He was charged with a number of offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, intimidation, and possessing a prohibited drug.

The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Gosford Hospital for further treatment.

The man will appear at Gosford Local Court tomorrow.
