BIG CHANGES AHEAD FOR COFFS STADIUM?

An upgrade for the Coffs Harbour International Stadium could be in sight.

Coffs Harbour City Council has applied to the Federal Government for $6.7-million, which would go towards installing two more grandstands, a corporate area and improved amenities.

The bid is being made through the Building Better Regions Fund, which involves the government meeting the $13, 440, 000 project cost dollar for dollar.

“What we passed last night, was to take only two million dollars out of the T2S savings, get a $4-million dollar loan, so that we leave ourselves with an extra two million dollars in case something else comes up.”

It’s hoped the improvements would attract more big events like the recent A-League game.
