A teenage rugby player charged with assaulting a referee fronted Maitland Local Court this morning.
18-year-old Mark Meafua is accused of striking Niklas Gaal in the face during last month’s under-19 grand final between Maitland and Wanderers.
The matter will be heard again next month.
