SYLVESTER EARNS SURFEST WILDCARD

Two-time Pro Junior winner Jake Sylvester, will make his return to the men’s main event at Surfest in February, after winning today’s wildcard trials at One Mile Beach.

Sylvester has taken a break from competitive surfing in recent years, but the Merewether boardrider today showed he hasn’t lost his touch, taming the inconsistent waves, mostly on his backhand.

Former wildcard winner, James McMorland from Caves Beach finished second in the four man final.

In the women’s draw, 16 year old Zahli Jade Kelly from the Far North Coast thoroughly outclassed her rivals.
