NRMA: DRIVERS RIPPED OFF AT THE BOWSER

The NRMA says drivers are being ripped off after the single biggest weekly spike in petrol prices in the past two years.

Motoring groups were expecting a rise due to a cut in oil production by OPEC countries, but didn’t predict prices to go this high.

“There’s no doubt drivers are paying more than they should. They’ve been paying too much now for too long we know prices went up before they should have and they’ve gone a lot higher than they were expected to and even now when they are meant to be falling they’re falling too slowly,” said Peter Khoury from the NRMA.

Newcastle drivers are paying around $1.39 for unleaded.
