SOUTHERN SPIRIT SLAMMED IN COUNTRY CUP

Woy Woy cricket side Southern Spirit has been knocked from the state’s Country Cup in spectacular fashion, skittled for just 58 in the semi-final against Tamworth.

Making first use of the pitch, Spirit’s bowlers found it tough going.

Daniel Friend was the best, picking up 3 for 34, but he didn’t have the support to cause any real headaches.

Tamworth cruising to a sizeable total, before doing all the damage with the ball.
