24-HOUR CRICKET-A-THON TO HIT TAMWORTH ON SATURDAY

There’ll be a first for the region tomorrow night, when play gets underway for a 24-hour cricket-a-thon at Tamworth’s No.1. Oval.
The initiative is part of the Tamworth Bicentenary, and also serves as a Pink Stumps Day fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation.
Water bottles are bound to be replaced by energy drinks and coffee, with play starting at 7pm tomorrow evening to wrap-up on Sunday night.
The other aim of the match is to notch-up 1000 runs in 24-hours.
Tamworth Mayor, Col Murray and local MP, Kevin Anderson are expected to bowl the first overs.
PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO UNAVAILABLE.
