The Federal Government has committed $2-million to upgrading parts of Tamworth Regional Airport.
The funding will be used to improve the instrument landing system, which helps pilots land safely when visibility is poor.
Tamworth Council hopes the upgrades will also attract businesses focused on training pilots, with the Australian Defence Force Flying School leaving the facility in 20-19.
