Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of woman at Branxton, in the Hunter Valley.
A family member raised the alarm after they weren’t able to contact the man, aged in his late 70s, and his 28-year-old daughter.
Police forced their way into the Dalwood Road home, where they discovered the woman’s body, and the elderly man in a critical condition.
He was taken to Maitland Hospital.
