PODIUM PLACES FOR HUNTER SAILORS IN MELBOURNE

He was forced to settle for silver in Rio, but Lake Macquarie’s Will Ryan has gone one better at the Sailing World Cup in Melbourne.

Joining forces with Matt Belcher in the 470 class, the pair was unchallenged from day one, claiming gold this afternoon.

Will’s sister Jaime was second in the women’s 470, while fellow Hunter sailor, Harry Morton, outclassed his experienced rivals to win silver in the 49ers.

Rounding out a successful haul, Haylee Outteridge claimed bronze in the 49erFX.
