Newcastle Council has endorsed a plan to rezone a parcel of land, including the NBN Television building, to allow for a large housing development.
The rezoning would pave the way for medium density housing on the site at The Hill, in Mosbri Crescent and Kitchener Parade.
It would allow apartment buildings up to 12 metres high or four storeys above street level to be built, with the potential for 190 dwellings.
The proposal will now be forwarded to the state’s Planning Minister.
