MAN SMASHED IN THE FACE WITH AN IRON BAR DURING HOME INVASION

Four men are on the run after they invaded a home and assaulted a man on the Gold Coast yesterday.

Police say that shortly before 3pm, four men forced their way into an Ocean Street residence in Burleigh Heads, and repeatedly struck a 49-year-old man in the face with a metal bar.

The men then fled the scene by stealing the resident’s car, along with his phone and laptop.

The victim was taken hospital with suspected facial fractures.

One of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with a slim build, blonde hair and a tattoo of the word “loyalty” on the left side of his face. He was wearing a black shirt and shorts.

Another of the men is described as Caucasian in appearance with a large build, short brown hair and wearing similar clothing.

The victim’s car is a black 2008 Lexus sedan with registration 314TNR.

Anyone with information in relation to the assault and theft is urged to contact police.
