Mid North Coast residents are being warned of a Centrelink phone scam targeting pensioners.
There’s been reports of bogus calls from a person purporting to be representing Centrelink, claiming that they have overpaid pension payments.
“I’m quite concerned now following letters going out from Centrelink about asset test changes, that the scammers will be out there trying to solicit information and money from the unwary pensioners.”
Residents are warned to not provide any personal or bank details over the phone or by email.
