RACING NSW SHUTS DOWN BROADMEADOW TRACK

The Broadmeadow race track has been closed indefinitely, following a meeting today between the NJC, jockeys and Racing New South Wales.
Jockeys have raised concerns about lumps and bumps on certain sections of the course, which they say has made riding unsafe.
The NJC today revealed a plan to fix the surface, by moving the rail by seven metres, and renovating the inside section.
But Racing New South Wales says the work will need to cover a greater area – and that could take around 8 weeks.
The decision on where meetings will take place in the meantime should be made tomorrow.
The NJC says the move will cost it millions of dollars.
