Newcastle police are warning businesses and shop owners to remain vigilant of their property following suspicious activity and thefts by two teens.
About 1pm yesterday a young male entered the Asian Delight Chinese Restaurant in Adamstown and asked to use the toilet. Shortly after the second male approached the owner and was also directed towards the toilet.
When the owner became suspicious another employee went to check the pair and found a moderate sum of cash had been stolen.
Police are investigating the matter and are calling on shop owners to report similar suspicious activity.
