NO RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP GAMES FOR NEWCASTLE

The draw for the Rugby League World Cup has raised plenty of eyebrows with Sydney only awarded two pool games – featuring Australia, England and Lebanon.
Regional areas such as the Hunter, Central Coast and Northern New South Wales missed out altogether.
Organisers say the decision was made because the Baird Government was reluctant to commit funds to the tournament.
Cairns, Townsville and Canberra will host three pool games each, while Darwin gets a quarter final.
