Police are investigating the cause of a fire which gutted part of a Lismore service station this morning.
Firefighters were called to the property on Ballina Street at around one-thirty.
“We haven’t ruled out the possibility of a lit cigarette being put into one of the garbage bins of the premises but at this stage we we are keeping an open mind.
The blaze caused up to $30,000 worth of damage.
“Everything here we have insured, it’s insured but still like its very painful for me and very sad for me too, all night I couldn’t sleep and I’m still here.”
