MACADAMIA FORECAST ON TRACK

There’s never been a more exciting time to be a macadamia grower according to the industry’s peak body.

The Australian Macadamia Society says the country’s crop is on track to reach 50-thousand tonnes in shell for the year, and is continuing to fetch record prices.

However this year’s harvest has seen mixed results for Northern Rivers farmers.

“Some growers have disappointingly seen a drop from last year, other growers a little bit up, but across the region, and certainly across the nation, it’s been a very good result”

The Northern Rivers is considered the major growing region for macadamias in Australia.
