Community Care Options in Coffs Harbour has won this year’s Disability Industry Innovation Award.
The body connects people living with a disability to social and sporting groups.
State Disability Services Minister John Ajaka was on hand today to present the accolade.
“People with disability want to be able to be inclusive within the community, they want to participate in all activities whether they be sport or otherwise and this is exactly what this wonderful organisation does,” Mr Ajaka said.
The Minister says welfare organisations will continue to play an important role during and after the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
