DANNY BUDERUS HOSTS LEAGUE CLINIC

He may have retired in 2013, but Knights great Danny Buderus is as popular as ever, with 350 kids turning out for his training clinic today at Hunter Stadium.

The former skipper wants to ensure young fans stick by Newcastle.

“Can’t do enough for the club at the moment, the Knights, it’s tough times at the club. I’m sure over the years a few of these kids will go on and wear the red and blue,” he said.

As for the current squad, Buderus is confident Chris Adams can handle a return to first grade following 18 months in the local league.

“Griz is always a competitor and that’s what we want, Danny Levi might have to put off back surgery, Tyler Randell with a rib issue … Chris Adams I’m sure he’ll get a bit of a run over the next six weeks.”

Buderus will hold a clinic in his home town of Taree on July 15.
