LISA MARTIN TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA AT RIO PARALYMPICS

Scone’s Lisa Martin and her horse First Famous have been chosen to represent Australia at the Rio Paralympics.
Lisa suffered a serious injury 16 years ago when she fell off a horse and almost lost her leg.
Following several procedures, the limb was saved, but her achilles tendon was permanently damaged.
Since then, Lisa has predominantly competed in able-bodied events, but says she’s honoured to represent her country at the Paralympics.
Fellow rider Sharon Jarvis was also selected.
She’s currently based in the Hunter, training with Heath Ryan.
