A small but passionate group of Newcastle residents came together this morning, to send a message to the state government about the proposed light rail route.
The group staged a rally, calling for the project to remain on the rail corridor, rather than go down Hunter Street, as planned.
“We want them to listen to the submissions that people are putting in, that the people of Newcastle are putting in. Not what the people in Sydney think we want,” said Phil Dibben from Access Newcastle Foreshore.
