RFS AND SES CONTINUE SCOUTING FOR NEW HOME

Tamworth’s rural fire fighters and SES are still on the look out for a new home, after the proposed site on Country Lane was deemed unsuitable.
The SES claims it’s prone to flooding from Timbumburi Creek, so council has gone back to the drawing board.
“We had about 14 to 15 sites around the Tamworth area, so we’ve narrowed it down to three or four and they are in crown land and some on council land, within a five kilometre radius of Tamworth.”
It’s now up to the RFS and SES to make a final decision.
“The most likely options are going to be within the precinct to Forrest Road in the back of the hospital, in that area there.”
