WEATHER: WINTER RAIN ON THE WAY

This past Autumn is likely to be the hottest of record for Australia, those stats will be released within the next couple of days. Winter is here and rain is on the way. An inland pulse will build and make its way across the dry NW at the end of the week. There was the threat of coastal flooding but the good news is the very heavy rain band should drop most of its load out to sea sparing coastal communities. There is still the chance of some heavy falls along the NSW coastal fringe over the weekend. The moisture build up is due to the very warm East Australian Current which is still flushing out all the warm water from the Coral Sea. Now that cold air has come in over the top you can sea the towering cumulonimbus clouds offshore, for the best part most of them should remain there.
