The last Tamworth-baked loaf of bread passed through the Buttercup Bakery today, as the site’s production line shut down.
The Goodman Fielder site will now distribute bread from outside the region, with a small team to be kept on until September.
From September, work will continue from other locations around the state.
The company says the closure is part of a bid to reduce its production footprint.
