Armidale has also been recognised on the world stage, by the New York based Intelligent Community Forum.
The New England regional city has been announced as the leading ‘Smart21 Community of 2016’, following the foundation’s conference in Ohio today.
The list is created based on a number of indicators, including access to broadband, innovation, a knowledgeable workforce and advocacy.
Armidale will now go in the running to be named the 2016 ‘Intelligent Community of the Year’.
