A 19 year old Taree man remains behind bars tonight after he was arrested in relation to a one punch attack in Albert Street, Taree on July 28.
A man allegedly punched a 49-year-old man in the head around 10pm before rummaging through his pockets and stealing a large sum of cash.
Public information helped lead Police to extradite the 19 year old from Queensland yesterday.
“This is a typical example of how important the public are to police in our investigations this breakthrough has come from the public and we couldn’t do our job without their assistance,” Insp. Peter McKenna said.
He will appear before Taree Local Court tomorrow.
