COFFS BUSINESSMAN JAILED OVER DEAL WITH COP

A Coffs Harbour businessman has been jailed over a secret deal he made with a former local police officer.
In the Court of Criminal Appeal in Sydney today, champion body builder Andrew MacLeod was sentenced to nine months in prison with possible parole in December.
A jury found Macleod guilty of making a collusive agreement with former state crime detective Tony Farrell.
Phone intercepts revealed the police officer had agreed to tip off Macleod if the latter was ever under investigation.
In Feburary, Farrell was jailed for two years with a non-parole period of 12 months.
